WORLD’S TOUGHEST MUDDER SPECIAL TO AIR ON CHRISTMAS DAY ON CBS AND CBS SPORTS
Presents, egg nog, caroling and … face plants in the mud? Viewers on can start a new holiday tradition this Christmas Day by watching ultra-endurance athletes battle the most epic obstacles ever created in the annual World’s Toughest Mudder special on CBS.
For the first time, coverage of World’s Toughest Mudder can be seen on CBS on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25 (2:00 PM). Viewers will be on the edge of their seats up until the last minute to find out which male, female, and team won the championships and claimed top prizes of more than $170,000.
From the creative masterminds behind the global sensation of Tough Mudder events, World’s Toughest Mudder is an extreme 24-hour race set on a grueling five-mile looped course, featuring 20 challenging obstacles on each lap. More than 1,500 athletes from a around the world gather outside Las Vegas to fight through unpredictable desert terrain, weather conditions, and the most daunting and infamous obstacles ever created.
Immediately following, CBS Sports Network will air the World’s Toughest Aftershow (3:00 PM). Host Brent Stover, three-time World’s Toughest Mudder champion Amelia Boone and special guests will dive into race analysis. Top athletes will relive the 24-hour experience of overcoming elements and harrowing obstacles such as The Cliff, Augustus Goop and Kong.
Bonus: For a rare behind the scenes look at the journeys and training regimens of top athletes and inspirational Mudders as they prepare for the epic event, CBS Sports Network will air the one-hour preview show, Road to World’s Toughest Mudder on Thursday, December 15 (9:00 PM).
