Neil Haley interviews Sean Gunn of Netflix’s “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life”

The much buzzed about “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” on Netflix Friday, November 25th

Gilmore Girls
On November 25th, Gunn will reprise the role as the quirky, beloved character Kirk on the fan favorite television series Gilmore Girls. The part, which Gunn plays with the perfect balance of neurosis, peculiarity and heart, grew from a minor guest starring role into one of the series’ most beloved townspeople thanks in part to Gunn’s approach to the eccentric character. The revival series will be released on Netflix on November 25th as four, 90 minute episodes.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.  In May 2017, Gunn will be back in movie theaters as Kraglin in Marvel’s mega-blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.  The villan, which has been a fan favorite in the comic-books, is the right hand man to Yondu (Michael Rooker) and in the sequal he and his fellow ravagers are on a mission to recapture Peter Quill. Sean is also an essential part of the Guardians of the Galaxy production as he is the on -et stand-in for Rocket the Racoon, the CGI character voiced by Bradley Cooper. Gunn provides all of the movement and voice acting on set so the actors have something real to play off of.

The Belko Experiment
In March 2017, Gunn moves into the horror space with the feature The Belko Experiment. The action thriller premiered during midnight madness at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and the movie quickly got picked up by Blumhouse’s BH Tilt for release. The film, which at its core is a social experiment, follows a group of employees that are locked in their high-rise building in Colombia and ordered to either kill one another off one by one or be killed in masses. It’s written and produced by Gunn’s brother James Gunn and also stars Michael Rooker, John Gallager Jr. and Tony Goldwyn.
